The Chittagong Port Authority in a press release on Thursday said that 6,301 gate passes were issued at the port in a day on Tuesday.
Of which, consignee gate passes were 4,734 and off-dock gate passes were 1,567. This number is the highest and a new record for gate passes issued in a single day, said the press release.
The use of modern technology, especially the Terminal Operating System app, has made the port鈥檚 import-export activities dynamic, transparent and efficient. As a result, progress is being seen in overall port operations, mentioned the press release.
The port authority鈥檚 use of digital platforms has enabled faster container handling, gate operations, document processing and real-time monitoring, which has improved the quality of service and reduced both time and costs for traders.
The Chittagong Port Authority hopes that the initiatives taken to make the port smarter and more automation-based will take it to new heights in the future.
