The police on Thursday recovered the body of an East West University student from campus in the Aftabnagar area in the capital Dhaka.
The deceased was identified as Mushfiq Uzzaman, a second-semester student of the university鈥檚 law department.
Badda police station officer-in-charge Habibur Rahman said that the police recovered the body from a place in between two buildings of the university at about 4:00pm.
鈥極n information, the police recovered the body and sent it to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy,鈥� he said.
It initially appeared to be a case of suicide as the CCTV footage showed the student jumping from the rooftop of a building on the university campus, the police official said, adding that the exact cause of his death would be confirmed after the post-mortem report.
Quoting students, the police said that Mushfiq apparently left the classroom about minutes after 3:00pm and some students spotted his body in between the two buildings shortly after he left the classroom.
