A HOUSEWIFE allegedly killed her ailing child before taking her own life at Insafnagar village of Daulatpur in Kushtia Thursday night.
The deceased are Reshma Khatun, 25, wife of expatriate Rahidul Islam, and their three-year-old daughter Lamia Khatun, residents of the same village.
Quoting local people, Daulatpur police station officer-in-charge Sulaiman Sheikh told 抖阴精品 that Lamia had been suffering from illness, but her mother could not afford proper treatment due to financial hardship.
Rahidul, who lives abroad, reportedly had little contact with his family and did not provide regular financial support and the family had been going through longstanding disputes over the issues, the police officer said.
On information, a team of police recovered the bodies and sent them to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations Friday morning.
Reshma might have killed her daughter before taking her own life due to frustration stemming from financial hardship, her child鈥檚 illness, and family unrest, the police officer suspected.
The police were looking into the matter, he said, adding that legal action would be taken if anyone was found involved in the incident.
