Two people were killed and five others injured when a truck hit a van on Majhkandi-Bhatiapara at Mujurdia in Boalmari upazila of Faridpur district on Friday night.
The deceased were identified as Biplab Kumar Saha, 55, and Narayan Chandra Saha, 50, of the upazila.
The accident occurred around 10:45 pm when the truck hit the battery-run rickshaw van carrying them while returning from Kadir village after attending a religious programme there, leaving two dead on the spot and five others injured, said Al Amin Hossain, inspector (investigation) of Boalmari Police Station.
The injured were taken to Boalmari Upazila Health Complex.
