Bangladesh Bridge Authority in a statement on Saturday said that a modern technology-based cashless, nonstop electronic toll collection system had been launched on the Padma Bridge under the Bridge Authority.
Through this initiative, the country鈥檚 toll payment process has come under a faster, transparent and digital system, said the press release.
Currently, Padma Bridge toll is being paid through bKash, Trust Bank鈥檚 TAP app and Midland Bank鈥檚 app.
Users can complete the registration by going to the bKash app. On September 15, the live piloting of the ETC system of the Padma Bridge started through the TAP app of Trust Bank. Since then, the scope of this service is gradually increasing. A total of 1,814 vehicles have already crossed through the ETC system and a total toll of Tk 34,91,700 has been collected.
This ETC system has been implemented on the Padma Bridge under the instructions and guidance of the road transport and bridges adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan.
