Bangladesh Coast Guard on Saturday said that the members of the BCG in a drive seized 45 kilograms of venison at Shyamnagar in Satkhira.

The statement issued by BGC media officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq said that on a tip-off, a BCG team from Kaikhali Coast Guard conducted a drive around 1:00am in Parshekhali Bridge area of the Sundarbans under Shyamnagar and seized 45kg venison.

The BCG members also seized 12 deer legs. But, sensing the presence of the Coast Guard team, the poachers fled away.

The seized deer meat was handed over to the Tengrakhali patrol outpost forest office for further legal action.

The Coast Guard will continue such raids to prevent the killing and smuggling of wildlife.
