The Economic Relations Division will hold meetings with 51 ministries and divisions along with other agencies in November 2-5 with the aim of making an early review of development projects being implemented with overseas loans.

On the first day, it will hold meetings with 10 ministries and divisions, including Power Division, food ministry and water resources ministry.


On the final day, the ERD will hold meetings with 17 other ministries and divisions, including health ministry, Energy Division and Financial Institutions Division.

The division will hold meetings with the other ministries and divisions in November 3-4.

By the meetings, the ERD, which negotiates over the overseas loans, will assess the necessary amount of loan for the 2025-26 financial year after the early revision in line with a government decision.

The interim government is going to revise the current national budget in December for its smooth implementation by a new elected government.

The national election is slated for February 2026.

The July-June national budget is usually revised in March-April of a financial year.

The interim government is implementing the budget worth Tk 7.9 lakh crore with the non-development expenditure accounting for 67.7 per cent.

The annual development programme spending accounts for 32.2 per cent or Tk 2.3 lakh crore.

Of the Tk 2.3 lakh crore, about Tk 1.44 lakh crore has been projected to come from the Bangladesh government and the rest, Tk 86,000 crore, as project loans and grants from the overseas creditors.

The government managed to spend Tk 5,714.83 crore, or 2.39 per cent of its ADP, in the first two months of the current financial year.

Of the amount, Tk 2,747 crore was spent from government funds, Tk 2,501 crore from foreign loans and grants, and Tk 467 crore from implementing agencies› own resources.
