
Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology celebrated a monumental achievement as its ‘Team Andromeda Space and Robotics Research Organisation’ was felicitated on Tuesday for winning the ‘Global Space Challenge 2025.’
The team, comprising students Sajeeb Kumar Kar and Shuvo Ahmed from mechanical engineering, Adil Mubashar from computer science and engineering, and Sudipto Banik from electrical and electronic engineering department, clinched the title in the senior category with a near-perfect score of 499.8 out of 500, said a press release.
They triumphed over 40 teams from more than 15 countries in the week-long international competition, which tested skills in spacecraft design, orbital mechanics, and planetary science. The team also won the ‘Best Team Video’ award.
CUET vice-chancellor, Professor Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, honoured the world champions at a ceremony at his office.
The event was attended by senior faculty, including the team’s moderators, Professor Mohammad Ahsan Ullah and Mehedi Hasan Chowdhury.
