The Indian Border Security Force聽handed over 16 Bangladesh nationals to the Border Guard Bangladesh through the Satkhira border Saturday evening.

They were detained for entering India illegally and were repatriated following a flag meeting between officials of the two border forces.


According to BGB officials, they were detained at about 10:00pm on Friday at the Hakimpur check post in West Bengal鈥檚 North 24 Parganas district.

On Saturday evening, they were handed over to the BGB following a flag meeting between inspector Bikas Kumer, the commander of the BSF鈥檚 Amudiya Company, and Md Abul Kasem, the commander of the BGB鈥檚 Toloigacha border outpost in Satkhira.

The repatriated Bangladeshis include Mosharraf Dhali, 57, of Atulia Village under Shyamnaghar Upazila in Satkhira, Yunus Ali, 42, of the same village, his wife Muslima Khatun, 29,聽 daughter Sinha Khatun, 11, and Sharmin Sultana, 18, of Chandipur village.

BGB Toloigacha border outpost commander Md Abul Kasem filed a general diary with Satkhira Sadar police station in this connection.

Satkhira Sadar police station officer-in-charge Susanta Ghosh said that the repatriated Bangladeshis were handed over to their relatives Saturday night and Sunday morning.聽聽
