The forthcoming ‘Amar Ekushey Book Fair’, Bangladesh’s largest month-long book fair, will be held from December 17, 2025 to January 17, 2026 due to the forthcoming national elections and Ramadan, said a press release on Thursday.
The press release, issued by Bangla Academy director general Mohammad Azam, said that the decision was taken at a meeting held on ‘Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026’ chaired by the cultural affairs secretary, Md Mafidur Rahman, at the academy.
Bangla Academy director general, secretary, directors and representatives of the Bangladesh Publishers and Booksellers Association attended the meeting.
