A five-day art exhibition titled ‘SyllaBaad’ promoting experimental artworks is under way at Zainul Gallery 2 of fine arts faculty of Dhaka University.

The event, organised by SyllaBaad Collective, is featuring more than a hundred artworks by 80 artists.

The exhibition, which began on Tuesday, comprises mostly 2D artworks, including paintings, drawings, sculptures and three-dimensional installations.

Mubtasim Alvee, one of the organisers, said that the event aimed at inspiring artists and art students to create artworks and think beyond the academic syllabus.

‘We did not display names of the artworks and artists at the exhibition. Therefore, visitors can observe and assess the artworks without bias,’ Alvee said, adding that artists were not used to experimenting with artworks.

He hoped that the next editions of the exhibition would be more exciting.

Current students of the FFA, including Chowra, Shuvro, Fahim, Tajriba, Shoukhin and Suvro have curated and organised the exhibition.

SyllaBaad will end on Sunday.
