
Police submitted a chargesheet against eight persons in connection with the sensational murder of journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin in Gazipur.
The chargesheet was placed before the chief metropolitan magistrate court in the diatrict Monday afternoon.
Gazipur Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Rabiul Hasan disclosed the information at a press briefing at the GMP headquarters, saying the charge sheet was filed after just 17 days of the killing.
The accused are—Mizanur Rahman alias Ketu Mizan, 34, his wife Parul Akter alias Golapi, 25, Md Al Amin, 21, Swadhin alias Selim, 28, Md Shahjalal alias Jalal, 32, Md Faisal Hasan, 23, Suman alias Sabbir alias Mamun, 27, and Rafiqul Islam alias Arman, 30.
The deputy commissioner said that Tuhin’s mobile phone, which went missing after the murder, was yet to be recovered.
‘The phone remains switched off, but efforts to trace and recover it are continuing,’ he added.
