Senior journalist and columnist Bibhuranjan Sarkar has been missing since Thursday morning in Dhaka, prompting his family to file a general diary with the police.
Bibhuranjan works at Daily Ajker Patrika and writes regular columns for several media outlets.
Ramna police staion officer-in-charge Golam Faruq on Friday said that Bibhuranjan鈥檚 son Rito Sarkar filed a GD on Thursday night.
鈥楨fforts are underway to trace the missing journalist. The police have circulated the missing person report through wireless messages to all police stations across the country,鈥� he added.
According to the GD, Bibhuranjan left home in Siddheshwari for his office around 10:00am on Thursday but accidentally left his mobile phone at home.
Later, when the family contacted his office, they were informed that he had not arrived there either.
The whereabouts of the journalist remained unknown as of Friday afternoon.
