The reception ceremony of the newly elected advisory and executive committee of the Greater Kushtia Officers’ Kallyan Forum, Dhaka for the year 2025–2026 was held at the National Archives Auditorium of Agargaon in Dhaka on Saturday.

During this ceremony, all members of the newly elected executive committee and advisory council, as well as invited guests, were welcomed with flowers, said a press release.


The Greater Kushtia Officers’ Welfare Forum, Dhaka primarily consists of officers from the districts of Kushtia, Meherpur and Chuadanga.

Attorney general Md Asaduzzaman attended the ceremony as chief guest.

Khandakar Rashedul Haque, chief adviser of the Greater Kushtia Officers’ Welfare Forum and retired additional secretary, attended the ceremony as special guest.

Md Mohiuddin, father of Shahid Yamin, martyred in the July uprising in the past year, attended as an invited guest.

Also present was Md Moniruzzaman, secretary general of the Greater Kushtia Officers’ Welfare Forum and additional secretary.

The ceremony was presided over by KhM Kabirul Islam, president of the Greater Kushtia Officers’ Welfare Forum and secretary, technical and madrassah education division, Ministry of Education.

Several other distinguished guests, including presidents of the Meherpur and Chuadanga District Associations in Dhaka, also delivered speeches at the event.

Md Asaduzzaman mentioned that Kushtia, situated on the banks of the Padma River, along with the Greater Kushtia region and Jashore district on the Padma-Gorai banks, were neglected and underdeveloped areas.

He expressed hope that the Greater Kushtia Officers’ Welfare Forum, along with other associations, would play a strong and collective role in the development of these areas.
