The police on Saturday recovered the bodies of three construction workers from a water tank at an under-construction building in the capital鈥檚 Bashundhara Residential Area.
Another injured worker was rescued from the tank and was admitted to Kurmitola General Hospital for treatment.
The deceased are Faridul, 40, Rabbi, 17, and Liton, 35, while the injured worker is Shahinur, 24. All of them are from Patgram upazila in Lalmonirhat.
Bhatara Police Station officer-in-charge Rakibul Hasan said that the incident occurred at about 12:30pm, and the police rushed to the spot after being informed through the national emergency helpline 999.
He said that they were informed that four construction workers had entered the water tank to remove bamboo scaffolding used in the construction work, but did not come out.聽聽聽
He said that they recovered the bodies and sent them to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations.
OC Rakibul said that they primarily assumed that the victims were electrocuted at their workplace.
