
Two people were killed after being run over by train in Rajshahi and Naogaon on Saturday.
Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that a youth died after being run over by a train at Baharampur area in Rajshahi.
The deceased was Rakesh, 24, son of Rajesh of ID Baganpara area under Rajpara in the city.
The accident occurred when a Rahanpur-bound intercity commuter train hit the youth in Baharampur City Bypass area around 9.15am when he was crossing the rail track. He died on the spot, said Rajshahi Railway GRP police station officer-in-charge Faisal Bin Ahsan.
Later, the police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for autopsy. The body was handed over to the family members, the OC said.
The BSS also reported that a man was killed after being run over by train at Raninagar in Naogaon.
The deceased was Babu Pramanik, 55, of Shimulia Uttarpara village under Naogaon Sadar.
The accident occurred around 9:00am at Raninagar Railway Station when Chilahati-bound Titumir Express train from Rajshahi hit Babu while he was crossing the rail track, said Raninagar Railway Station master Abdul Khalek
He died on the spot.
Santahar Railway Police station sub-inspector Mahfuz confirmed the matter.
