The arrested were identified as Sinbad Ali, 27, son of Chammat Ali, a resident of Mahishkundi Dottarpara, and Mintu Hossain, 29, son of Sawkat Mandal, a resident of Mohammadpur village in the district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB conducted a drive in the area and arrested the two men, said BGB-47 assistant director Zakirul Islam.

They also recovered two foreign pistols, two magazines, two live rounds, 90 bottles of Phensedyl, and 20 bottles (50ml each) of liquid LSD from their possession.

The total market value of the recovered items was estimated at Tk 10.42 crore, he said, adding that the suspects and seized materials would be handed over to the Daulatpur police.

‘BGB operations will continue to ensure border security and public safety,’ the BGB official said.
