A minor boy died from electrocution at Majhipara village under Lakhsmipur union of Gaibandha Sadar on Friday morning.
The victim, Ananda kumar, son of Kazal Kumar of the village, was a student of Class VII of Lengabazar High School.
Family members said that there wes a poultry farm owned by a man Tara Miah in the village. Every night, a number of foxes used to come to the farm to eat eggs of the chicken. So he set up an electric trap around the farm to deter the foxes.
On Friday morning, the victim found eggs lying on the ground adjacent to the farm while he was walking alone. In that time, Ananda tried to raise the eggs and accidentally came in contact with a live wire used for electric trap and electrocuted.
Later, he was taken to hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead.
