A 42-year-old woman and her daughter were found dead at a house in the village of Jalalapur under Burichang in Cumilla on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Namita Pal, 42, wife of Jibon Chandra, and her daughter Tanni Rani Pal, 18, of the village.
Shahidullah Prodhan, in-charge of Debpur police camp, said that being informed by people of the area, the police recovered the bodies from the house in the afternoon.
Primarily it is suspected that both mother and daughter might have committed suicide by taking poison, said the police.
People of the area said that the family had been in debt for long.
The bodies were taken to Cumilla Medical College and Hospital morgue and actual reason behind it could be known after getting autopsy report, said Shahidullah Prodhan.
