Border Guard Bangladesh has seized various types of smuggled goods worth of Tk 174.28 crore in July, including in border areas and other places.
The recovered weapons include locally made and foreign pistols, revolver, SMG, rifles, hand grenades, magazines, and ammunition and gun powder.
Also, a large amount of narcotics was seized by the BGB in the past month, including Yaba, crystal meth ice, heroin, cocaine, Phensedyl, liquor, hemp, bidis and cigarettes, tobacco leaves, tablets, injections, Anegra and Senegra tablets.
The BGB has arrested 213 smugglers and 204 Bangladeshi nationals and 9 Indian natonals for illegal border crossing, and taken legal action against them.
In addition, 540 Myanmar nationals have been returned to their country while trying to enter Bangladesh.
