
Home adviser Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Wednesday said that there was no security threat centring on August 5.
‘There is no security problem over August 5. Everything is well with the blessing of Allah,’ he said at his ministry at secretariat in Dhaka.
 About the 11-day special drive centring on August 5, the home adviser said that no countrywide drive was going on around August 5 rather the Dhaka Metropolitan Police was conducting an operation.
About the government measures regarding the attack on Hindu people at Gangachara in Rangpur, he said, ‘All involved in the attack will be exposed to justice.’
In respond to a query about the purpose of a Malaysian police team’s visit to Bangladesh as it arrived in Dhaka following the arrest of Bangladeshi people in Malaysia for their alleged involvement in militancy, he said, ‘The Malaysian police team paid a courtesy call on me.’
The team may talk with Bangladesh Police over the issue, he said.
Replying to a question about visa rejection, the home adviser said, ‘They are giving visas on arrival to those countries with which Bangladesh has agreement over the issue.’
