The police recovered the body of a man at a canal of Khejurtala area under Islamic University police station in Kushtia on Thursday.
The identity of the deceased, aged about 35 to 40, could not be known immediately, said the police.
IU police station officer-in-charge Mehedi Hasan said that people of the area spotted the body lying on the land and informed the police.
He said that a team of police recovered the body and sent it to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination.
The OC added that they were looking into the matter.
