Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology and Singer Bangladesh Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on research and development projects, knowledge sharing and workshops, internship programmes, and job fair arrangement and participation.

The signing ceremony was held on July 12 at the BUET vice-chancellor’s office in Dhaka, said a press release on Tuesday.


Present at the event were BUET VC Professor ABM Badruzzaman, pro-vice-chancellor Professor A Hasib Chowdhury, and director of research and innovation centre for science and engineering Professor Mohammad Shariful Islam, Representing Singer Bangladesh Limited managing director and CEO MHM Fairoz, director – human resources Syed Zahidul Islam, and director – factory Hakan Altınışık. Other senior executives from both institutions were also present.

The MoU signifies a major step forward in fostering industry-academia collaboration. It will open new avenues for joint efforts and innovation in the field of research and development.
