
The Sustainable Agriculture Foundation Bangladesh, in partnership with Swiss TPH, ETH Zurich, Sight and Life has recently organised a closing workshop titled Celebrating Success and Sustaining Impact to mark the achievements of the Nutrition in City Ecosystems Project at Hotel InterContinental Dhaka.
Funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the workshop has showcased the project’s contributions to building sustainable, nutrition-focused urban food systems in Dinajpur municipality and Rangpur City Corporation since its inception in August 2021, said a press release on Wednesday.Â
This project was implemented by Eco-Social Development Organisation in these two cities.
The workshop has highlighted collaborative progress through multi-sectorial engagement and community participation, aimed at nurturing healthier cities.
Md Saidur Rahman, health services division secretary, has graced the occasion as chief guest.
He has highlighted the importance of safe eating habits, nutritious food, urban nutrition and the necessity of stakeholders from farmers to all levels.
The workshop has included expert reflections, panel discussions on sustainability and future strategies and an appreciation ceremony for partners and community champions with the involvements of the change makers with focus on food security situation and nutrition habit.
It also featured insights from leading professionals and development partners committed to advancing urban nutrition.
