Hotel Agrabad is set to observe the 53rd anniversary of death of Sabder Ali, founding managing director and a pioneer in Bangladesh鈥檚 hospitality industry, through a series of commemorative events this week.
On July 5, a Qur鈥檃n recitation and prayer session will be held at the hotel premises, seeking eternal peace for the departed soul. The event will be attended by family members, religious scholars and close acquaintances, including HM Hakim Ali, the current managing director of Hotel Agrabad, said a press release on Thursday.
The management stated that this initiative was a gesture of deep respect and gratitude for Sabder Ali鈥檚 visionary contributions to the hospitality sector.
His legacy, they said, continues to inspire the institution under the leadership of his successors.
On July 6, a floral wreath will be offered at his grave. Later in the day, a lunch will be hosted in the Karnaphuli Hall of the hotel for all associates and staff.
The commemorative programme will conclude with reflections on Sabder Ali鈥檚 enduring influence on the development of the hospitality industry in Bangladesh.
