
In recognition of their contributions to wildlife conservation and research, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has officially nominated four individuals and organisations for the National Wildlife Conservation Award 2025.
According to the official gazette issued by Forest Wing-2 of the ministry on Wednesday, the nominees are Md Fazle Rabbi from Purbo Madhanagar under Naldanga in Natore for wildlife conservation in the individual category; Sherpur Bird Conservation Society for wildlife conservation in the institution or organisation category; Md Monowar Hossain, professor, department of zoology, Jahangirnagar University, for wildlife education and research in the individual category; and the department of zoology, University of Dhaka for wildlife education and research in the institution category.
As per the award guidelines, each awardee will receive a gold medal weighing 2 bhori of 22-carat purity, a cheque for Tk 1,00,000, and a certificate of honour, a ministry press release said.
This national recognition will enhance public awareness and engagement in wildlife conservation, research, and environmental education.
