
Bangladesh recurve men鈥檚 and compound women鈥檚 archery teams failed to secure bronze medals after losing in their respective events in the Asia Cup-World Ranking Tournament stage-2 at the Bukit Gombak Stadium in Singapore on Wednesday.
In the recurve men鈥檚 team event, the Bangladesh team, comprised of Abdur Rahman Alif, Rakib Mia, and Ram Krishna Saha, lost to Chinese Taipei by 5-3 set points to finish in fourth position.
Earlier, Bangladesh beat the Philippines 6-0 and Kazakhstan 5-4 on tie-breaker before they lost to India by 5-1 set points in the semi-finals.
The Bangladesh women鈥檚 compound team, comprised of Bonna Akter, Kulsum Akter, and Puspita Zaman, suffered a narrow 230-224 point loss to Kazakhstan in the bronze-deciding match.
They had previously beaten Hong Kong by 230-221 points and the Indonesian team by 230-225 points in their first two games before losing to Malaysia 224-221, which set up their bronze final battle against Kazakhstan.
