The police recovered the throat-slit body of a woman from a pond near her house at Hatiya in Noakhali early Thursday.
The deceased is identified as Amena Begum, 50, a resident of Nijhum Dwip of Hatiya in Noakhali.
According to the police, Amena was killed and later her body was dumped into a pond next to her house at about 10:30pm on Wednesday.
Hatiya police station officer-in-charge AKM Azmal Huda said, 鈥楾he body was recovered from the pond at about 2:15am on Thursday.鈥�
鈥榃e are investigating the incident,鈥� added the police official. According to the police and local people, Amena was alone at her house at the time of the incident.
