A fire broke out at the third floor of a three-storey commercial building adjacent to Shahjalal Islami Bank at Motijheel in Dhaka on Saturday evening.
According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters, the blaze was reported at 6:17pm and the first unit reached the scene by 6:28pm.
Four units from Siddique Bazar fire station were deployed and worked to bring the fire under control. After efforts, the fire was brought under control at 7:14pm, said Talha bin Jashim, station officer of the FSCD headquarters.
No casualties have been reported so far. The cause of the fire and extent of the damage are yet to be determined, he added.
