Nursing students from across the country on Wednesday blockaded Shahbagh crossing at about 2:00pm demanding recognition of all diplomas in nursing and midwifery courses equivalent to undergraduate degrees amid huge sufferings of people.
They started their blockade with the one-point demand on Wednesday afternoon and continued the demonstration till filing this report at 8:00pm on the day.
Due to the blockade of one of the most vital intersections of the capital, huge traffic gridlock was seen in all adjacent areas.
Under the banner of 鈥楧iploma in Nursing and Midwifery Degree Implementation Committee鈥�, the nursing students at different places in the country, including Dhaka, Rajshahi and Barishal have been protesting for the past few days to press home their demands.
