A seminar titled 鈥楶rogress in earth surface monitoring utilising remote sensing techniques: Bangladesh perspective鈥� was held at the Bangladesh Space Research and Remote Sensing Organisation on Monday.
SPARRSO chairman and additional secretary Md Rashidul Islam inaugurated the day-long seminar as chief guest, said a press release on Tuesday.聽
Brigadier General AKM Fazlur Rahman of the ministry of defence was present as special guest at the seminar, chaired by SPARRSO member Jasim Uddin Haider.
Dhaka University Professor M Shahidul Islam presented a keynote paper titled 鈥楢pplication of GIS and remote sensing in integrated coastal zone management: Bangladesh context鈥� and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology Professor AKM Saiful Islam presented another keynote paper titled 鈥楻emote sensing applications for climate risk assessment鈥�.
Renowned professors, scientists from DU, BUET, Jahangirnagar University and Jagannath University, and representatives from various ministries/agencies/departments/directorates, including the ministry of defence were present.
