At least five people were killed in road accidents in Chattogram, Gazipur and Bagerhat districts on Sunday.

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that two people were killed in separate road accidents in Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram.


The deceased are Md Hasan, 45, a night guard in the Purbo Syedpur area under Syedpur union, and Md Saikat, 26, a truck driver鈥檚 assistant from the same upazila.

The police said that Hasan was killed by an unidentified Dhaka-bound vehicle at around 6:30am while returning after dumping garbage in a canal beside the highway at Banur Bazar.

Meanwhile, at around 10:30pm on Saturday, a Dhaka-bound covered van was hit by a truck near Sitakunda Upazila Health Complex. As a result, its helper, Saikat, fell from the vehicle and was run over by its wheels.

He was first taken to the upazila health complex, from where he was referred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning.

抖阴精品 Correspondent in Gazipur reported that a 60-year-old woman was killed and her son injured after a covered van hit their motorcycle in Dhirashram area in Gazipur.

The deceased is Rahima Aktar, a resident of the Adabar area.

Gazipur Metropolitan Police鈥檚 Sadar Thana OC said that the body was sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination and a legal action was under way.

BBS reported that a person was killed in a road accident in the Attakir Megnishtola area of Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat district.

The deceased, Md Munna Fakir, 20, was a resident of the Pagla Uttarpara area of the upazila.

Munna lost control of his motorbike and hit a roadside pillar in the area, leaving him critically injured, said Mollahat Highway Thana OC Sheikh Nuruzzaman.

Later, he was taken to the upazila health complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
