Bangladesh Road Transport Authority and Dhaka Metropolitan Police jointly conducted a drive against unfit vehicles in the city on Friday.
Such joint drive would continue to keep the city鈥檚 traffic system smooth during Eid-ul-Fitr, BRTA and police said.
BRTA director (admin) Mohammad Kamrul Islam Chowdhury said that they would assign vigilance teams at all points in the city from March 28 to strictly monitor fitness of the transports and maintain discipline on roads.
Meanwhile, mobile courts of DMP on the day visited many garages and transport parts manufacturing factories in the city.
The mobile courts visited the garages from Aminbazar Bridge to Nawaberbagh intersection, DMP deputy commissioner (media) Mohammad Talebur Rahman said.
