A woman, also the mother of three children, was allegedly raped by a youth and the incident was reportedly filmed in Narsingdi’s Raipura upazila on Sunday night.
The accused, Rakib Miah, 32, is a resident of village Rahimabad of the upazila and is known as a drug dealer and addict.
According to complaints lodged with additional superintendent of police (admin and finance) Kalimullah, the accused raped the 40-year-old woman at her house on Sunday night and looted her ornaments.
Cohorts of the accused filmed the incident and threatened the victim not to disclose the matter, if disclosed she will face a dire consequence.
Recording the allegations, the police official ordered the officer-in-charge of the police station concerned to take legal action in this regard.
OC Adil Mahmud said they launched an operation to detain the accused following a directive from the higher authority.
