The government has appointed deputy inspector general of police Md Golam Rasul as chief of special branch.
The appointment was made in a notification signed by deputy secretary of the public security division of the ministry of home affairs Md Mahabur Rahman Sheikh on Monday.
Golam Rasul was serving the SB as DIG. From now, he will serve the special branch as additional inspector general of police (current charge).
The order published in the public interest would be effective immediately, the notification said.
