
Mohammad Amirul Islam has recently been awarded with the BAS-TWAS Gold Medal for his contribution to nuclear science and technology.
He received the medal in a special session of the 23rd Asian Science Council Conference organised by the Asian Science Council and Bangladesh Academy of Sciences at the National Science and Technology Building in Agargaon, Dhaka, said press release on Thursday.
Bangladesh Academy of Sciences and the World Academy of Sciences have jointly award the gold medal to a scientist for special contribution to science and technology every year.
Mohammad Amirul Islam earned his PhD in Nuclear Science and Technology from the Graduate School of Science and Engineering of Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan.
Currently, he is working as chief scientific officer at the Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology at Savar in Dhaka.
