Bangladesh鈥檚 interim government appointed 669 law officers across various courts in Dhaka on Monday, according to a circular issued by the solicitor wing of the law ministry.

Among the key appointments, lawyer Md Omar Faruq Faruqui was named public prosecutor of the Dhaka Metropolitan District and Sessions Judge鈥檚 Court, senior lawyer Iqbal Hossain was appointed public prosecutor of the Dhaka District and Sessions Judge鈥檚 Court, and senior lawyer Abul Khair was designated as government pleader for civil cases.


Omar Faruq will be assisted by three additional public prosecutors: Rafiqul Islam, Azizul Haque Didar, and Hatimul Alam. Iqbal Hossain will work with 15 additional public prosecutors, while Abul Khair will have 10 additional pleaders.

The appointments also include additional and assistant public prosecutors and pleaders for various other courts in Dhaka. These new appointments have effectively replaced law officers appointed during the previous Awami League government.
