In response, shop owners from Patuatuli, Islampur, and Sadarghat areas took to the streets to protest against the attack.
The shop owners claimed that at least 10 of the shop owners and staff were injured in the attack.
They alleged that local BNP leaders Sohrab Hossain and Nur Hossain led the attack.

‘The attackers may be connected to Chhatra Dal or similar groups,’ he said and added that they detained three people for their suspected involvement in the attack.
