
The Department of Architecture at North South University organised a socially responsive event titled ‘Meet the Parents’ on its campus in Dhaka on Monday.
The event was chaired by Associate Professor Shahriar Iqbal Raj, chair of the department, and attended by Ar AKM Saleh Ahmed Anik, lecturer and studio instructor of the ARC 111 course, said a press release.Â
In his opening remarks, Shahriar Iqbal welcomed guests and emphasised that architectural education at NSU was not merely an academic pursuit but ‘a journey of the mind and soul.’
Following his speech, the floor was opened to parents, who expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to engage directly with faculty. Many emphasised the importance of discipline, dedication, and academic focus.
Students also voiced their perspectives, echoing the need for improved transportation facilities and expressing gratitude for the academic and extracurricular support they receive from NSU.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks from Shahriar Iqbal Raj. The event ended on a hopeful note, reinforcing the shared commitment of NSU, its students, and families to building a future grounded in creativity, integrity, and collaboration.
