BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology welcomed its newly admitted students of fall semester 2025 through an orientation programme at the auditorium of the BUFT permanent campus at Nishatnagar of Turag in Dhaka on Saturday.

Presided over by Faruque Hassan, chairman of the board of trustees, BUFT, Professor Mohammad Anwar Hossen, member of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, attended as chief guest at the programme, said a press release.


Professor Ayub Nabi Khan, acting vice-chancellor of BUFT, delivered welcome address at the programme.

Mohammad Hatem, president of BKMEA, and Showkat Aziz Russell, president of BTMA, graced the event as special guests.

Professor Md Alamgir Hossain, BUFT treasurer and dean of the faculty of fashion studies; Professor Md Muinuddin Khan, dean of the faculty of business studies and faculty of arts and social sciences; Professor Md Sirajul Karim Chowdhury, dean of the faculty of engineering; Professor Md Abdul Jalil, dean of the faculty of science and faculty of textile engineering; and Professor Mohammad Rubayet Chowdhury, dean of the faculty of apparel studies, also spoke at the ceremony.

Two students one newly enrolled and one continuing shared their reflections and aspirations at the event.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Md Rafiquzzaman, registrar of BUFT.

The orientation was attended by the controller of examinations, director of public relations, department chairpersons, director of BIFT, director of P and D, head of logistics, proctor, IT manager, faculty members, administrative officials, new students, and their guardians.

The event concluded with a technical session followed by a cultural performance.
