Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology and Selcuk University in Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding to further expand and strengthen the fields of education, research, innovation and knowledge exchange between the two universities at the DUET in Gazipur on Thursday.

DUET vice-chancellor Professor Mohammad Zoynal Abedin and pro–VC Professor Md Arefin Kowser were present at the ceremony, said a press release.


DUET registrar, additional responsibilities, Professor Md Abu Taiyab signed the MoU on behalf of the DUET and Professor Rezai Kush, coordinator of the Selcuk University international relations coordination, signed on behalf of the university.

DUET VC said, ‘Today’s MoU is a milestone in the exchange of knowledge, research and technology between the two universities. This initiative has opened a new chapter in the education and culture of both universities.’

This MoU with Selcuk University is a new step in opening the horizon, which will lay the foundation for long-lasting friendship and cooperation between the two countries in the field of education, research and innovation, added the VC.

Expressing optimism that this academic partnership will not be limited to an exchange programme between students or teachers, he said, ‘Rather, it will be a joint journey of talent, creativity and technological excellence between the two nations.’
