Uttara University celebrates World Teachers’ Day, organising various programme to honour the contributions of its faculty members, at the university in Dhaka on Monday. | Press release  

On the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, Uttara University organised a seminar and an award ceremony to honour the contributions of its distinguished faculty members at the university in Dhaka on Monday.

In recognition of their two decades of dedicated, sincere and successful service in teaching, 10 faculty members were presented with special honorary crests, said a press release.


Vice-chancellor of Uttara University Professor Eaysmin Ara Lekha attended the programme as chief guest and handed over the crests to the award recipients.

In her speech, she expressed respect and gratitude to the teachers, saying, ‘Teachers are not only transmitters of knowledge but also architects of humanity. Through their wisdom, morality and compassion, they play a vital role in building a progressive society. Uttara University is truly proud of its devoted and inspiring teachers.’

She further added, ‘The success of Uttara University stands on the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of our teachers. Their commitment to education, research, and ethical values continues to enlighten students and nurture creativity, leadership and humanity among them.’

Two senior faculty members also shared their reflections on the teaching profession, saying that being a teacher here meant being part of a journey to shape the future generation.

A raffle draw was also arranged for all faculty members from different departments, where 10 teachers received prizes, creating an atmosphere of celebration.

The programme was jointly supported by the office of brand and communication and the office of public relations of Uttara University.

Deans, department chairpersons, professors, teachers, registrar and administrative officials were present at the event.
