The Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh held the 17th academic council meeting at the conference room of its Dhaka campus on Monday.

Vice-chancellor of the university air-vice-marshall AKM Manirul Bahar presided over the meeting, said a press release.

The VC expressed deep appreciation for every one’s ongoing efforts to transform this university into a world-class institution.

‘The academic council is not just a policy-making forum, but rather a creative intellectual space where the contours of our national progress are shaped,’ he said, emphasising on establishing a solid base for society by combining human values with technological brilliance, without restricting the current education system to degrees.

He urged teachers, researchers and students to play more active role in updating and modernising AAUB’s current curriculum, implementing the latest teaching methods and expanding the scope of research to meet international standards.

He also informed everyone in attendance that the university had recently launched a number of initiatives, including the expansion of research-based education, strengthening of industry-academia partnership and creation of expeditionary training opportunities to enable students to face real-life challenges.

He, thereafter, presented a summary of different activities of the university after 16th academic council meeting, which was held on March 17.

All of the agenda items were thoroughly discussed at the meeting and decisions were made accordingly.

Members of Bangladesh Air Force, MIST, BATC, BMU and CAAB participated in the meeting, along with other members of the Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh.
