
Bangladesh Medical University vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam at a seminar on Saturday laid emphasise on the need to elevate the relationship between physicians and the pharmaceutical industry to a higher ethical standard.
He made this emphasis while addressing a scientific seminar as chief guest, organised by the Bangladesh Renal Association at a hotel in Dhaka.
The seminar titled Improvement of Quality of Life in CKD Patients: Managing Pruritus and MBD featured a keynote presentation by Professor Shahinul Alam on 鈥榚thical considerations for attending pharmaceutical seminars: balancing ethics, academic integrity and professional responsibilities.
Special guest at the seminar was former principal of Chattogram Medical College聽 Professor Dr Imran Bin Yunus while Dr Golam Mahbub Sikder of Cumilla Medical College and Hospital presented a special documentary on the July mass uprising.
The event was attended by convener of Bangladesh Renal Association Professor Dr Md Nazrul Islam, Professor Dr Pradip Kumar Dutta, Professor Dr Abdul Mukit, Professor Dr Dhrubo Das, Professor Dr Md Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Dr Syed Mahtab Ul Islam, Dr Enamul Kabir and Dr Anisuzzaman, along with other physicians affiliated with the association.
