The department of biomedical engineering at the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology held BME BEATS 2025 at the Central Auditorium of CUET in Chattogram on Thursday.

CUET vice-chancellor Professor Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan attended as chief guest while CUET faculty of electrical and computer engineering dean Professor Kazi Delwar Hossain, IEB Chattogram Centre chairman Engineer Manjare Khorshed Alam and Epic Healthcare chairman Engineer SM Lokman Kabir were attended as special guest at the event, said a press release.


The event was presided over by Professor Nipu Kumar Das, head of the department of BME of CUET.

CUET VC said that biomedical engineering acted as a bridge between medicine and engineering. ‘Here, various problems of medicine and biology are solved by applying engineering.’

He mentioned, ‘Efforts are made to simplify healthcare, disease diagnosis and people’s lives by applying engineering in the medical field.’

Professor Kazi Tanvir Ahmed, department of EEE of Chittagong University, and assistant professor of the department of BME, Md Fazlul Karim Khandaker, also spoke at the event.

Hafsa Khan Trina, Arifa Tanzim and Jobayer Billah Arnab spoke on behalf of the outgoing batch at the event, which was moderated by Musarat Habib, a student of BME 20 batch.

The event also featured a rally and a seminar titled Photonics for Emerging Applications in Biomedical Imaging and Sensing. The keynote speaker was Professor Kazi Tanvir Ahmed, department of EEE Chittagong University.
