Modhumoti Bank PLC and the Bangladesh Bank signed a bilateral agreement, said a press release.
Under the deal, the bank will avail a refinancing facility from Tk 750 crore 鈥楩inancial Inclusion Credit Guarantee Scheme鈥�, aimed at providing low-interest collateral-free聽loans to eligible marginal/landless farmers, low-income professionals, and micro businessmen who have 鈥�10/50/100 taka accounts鈥�.
Modhumoti Bank managing director (current charge) Shahnawaj Chowdhury and Bangladesh Bank Credit Guarantee Department director Muhammad Nazmul Haque signed the agreement on September 29 at the central bank premises in the capital.
Bangladesh Bank executive director Md Sawkatul Alam oversaw the signing ceremony.
Among others, Bangladesh Bank additional directors Mohammad Imam Hossain, Zobaida Afroze and Modhumoti Bank SME division head Zahid Al Muntasir were present.
