State-owned Rupali Bank PLC has achieved the milestone of $1 billion in foreign remittance collection for the first time in the calendar year.

To commemorate this achievement on Monday, managing director Kazi Md Wahidul Islam celebrated this success by cutting a cake along with all concerned at the bank鈥檚 head office in Dilkusha.


The managing director mentioned that this success has been achieved due to the trust of expatriates, timely remittance services, trust of stakeholders and above all the sincerity of the remittance-related officials.

Deputy managing directors of the bank Parsuma Alam, Hasan Tanvir and Md Harunur Rashid were present at the event.

Also present were general managers of the bank Mohammad Shahjahan Chowdhury, Md Ismail Hossain Sheikh, Mohammad Safayet Hossain, Salamun Nesa and Md Monirul Haque, general manager and chief information technology officer Md Wahidul Islam Sarkar, Senior officials of the bank, including head of remittance department AKM Zakir Hossain, were present at the event.
