Rupali Bank PLC on Thursday launched its modern mobile banking service ‘RupaliCash’ in a new format, said a press release.

Managing director Kazi Md Wahidul Islam inaugurated the service at an event at the bank’s head office at Dilkusha in the capital.


He said that among state-owned banks, Rupali Bank PLC was the only one with its own mobile financial service.

Through this modern technology-based service, customers will be able to open e-KYC-based accounts, deposit and withdraw cash, transfer funds from one mobile wallet to another, check mobile wallet balance and transaction statements, make and receive salary payments, do mobile recharges, pay merchant bills, and carry out various types of financial transactions, he said.

Present at the event were the bank’s deputy managing directors Parsoma Alam, Hassan Tanvir and Md Harunur Rashid and Bangladesh Bank director Rafeza Akter Kanta.

Also present from the Bangladesh Bank were additional directors Md Kamrul Islam, Jayanta Kumar Bhawmik, joint director Sorkar Mohammad Amir Khasru and assistant director Nusrat Jahan Nishi.

In addition, Rupali Bank general managers Mohammad Shahedur Rahman, Mohammad Shahjahan Chowdhury, Md Ismail Hossain Sheikh, Mohammad Safayet Hossain, Md Noman Mia, Salamun Nesha, Tanvir Hasnain Moin, Abu Naser Mohammad Masud, Sheikh Manjur Karim and chief information technology officer Md Ohidul Islam Sorkar were present at the event.
