The election board of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association announced the list of its eight office-bearers for 2025-27 tenure on Saturday.
According to the schedule of the 2025-2027 elections of BGMEA, June 14 was scheduled for submission of nomination papers for the office-bearers鈥� posts.
As there was only one candidate against each post, and no appeal was made by any party regarding the final list, the candidates who submitted nomination papers were finally announced as office-bearers on Saturday.聽
Among them, Mahmud Hasan Khan (Babu) has been elected president for the 2025-27 term.
Salim Rahman has been elected 1st vice-president, Inamul Haq Khan senior vice-president, Md Rezwan Selim, Mijanur Raahman, Vidiya Amrit Khan, Md Sehab Udduza Chowdhury, and Mohammad Rafique Chowdhury have been elected vice-presidents. The other 27 elected candidates will serve as directors of the board for 2025-27 tenure.
The new Board of Directors would take charge on June 16, according to the BGMEA election schedule.
Earlier, on May 31, the BGMEA election was held, and the Forum, led by Rising Group managing director Mahmud Hasan Khan (Babu), won the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association鈥簊 biennial elections for 2025-27, securing 31 out of 35 directorship posts.
