A magazine containing bullets was found in a bag of local government, rural development and cooperatives adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital Dhaka on Sunday morning.
Asif, also the sports adviser to the interim government, was going to Morocco by a Turkish Airlines flight at 6:40am on Sunday, said several officials of the HSIA and the Special Branch of the police.
A senior HSIA official told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that a magazine containing bullets was recovered from the LGRDadviser’s bag during an inspection.
‘The adviser told us that the magazine was mistakenly remained in his bag. We removed the magazine from his bag and he went to board the flight,’ said the official requesting anonymity.
Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan in a Facebook post on Sunday night said that although he had kept in the arms with magazine at his home, another magazine mistakenly remained in the bag.Ìý
‘I had handed over it to my protocol officer after the scan,’ he said, adding that the incident was completely unintentional.Ìý
He said that he possessed licensed arms for the sake of his security.Ìý
The adviser also said that the allegation of withdrawal of news by pressure was ‘completely false’.
